- I've had a crash with Amosaic and each time I boot since the crash i get a
- checksum error on(?) on a block within the partition that holds the amitcp:
- directories. The screenmode will not reset to hi-res (the checksum problem
- seems to prevent the prefs from being implemented). i have run disksalv
- several times for all partitions on the disk and it "salvaged" two
- directories, but I still get the checksum. After the disksalv i got a
- "block out of range" and a REALLY large number. I'm not sure of my
- terminology here, so I'd appreciate any insights at all. I can see all
- of the files involved and disksalv says they are all right; I can also
- see all the files on the disk. I guess my question is: where do I find
- out about the checksum error and can it be corrected without saving
- all the files and doing something that causes the files to be lost on
- the disk they are on now?
