  11. I've had a crash with Amosaic and each time I boot since the crash i get a
  12. checksum error on(?) on a block within the partition  that holds the amitcp: 
  13. directories. The screenmode will not reset to hi-res (the checksum problem 
  14. seems to prevent the prefs from being implemented).  i have run disksalv 
  15. several times for all partitions on the disk and it "salvaged" two 
  16. directories, but I still get the checksum.  After the disksalv i got a 
  17. "block out of range" and a REALLY large number.  I'm not sure of my 
  18. terminology here, so I'd appreciate any insights at all. I can see all
  19. of the files involved and disksalv says they are all right; I can also
  20. see all the files on the disk.  I guess my question is: where do I find
  21. out about the checksum error and can it be corrected without saving
  22. all the files and doing something that causes the files to be lost on
  23. the disk they are on now?
